The Proposal

Well...Friday night was the sealer! Laura and Kyle are officially engaged! They are looking at an August or September wedding. They need to call the Temple and see what dates are available and they are on their way. Congrats Laura and Kyle. We are all so happy for you.
Well...school is out! That doesn't mean that I am finished. I have 3 more weeks to finish up. I have three days of Word classes that I will be going to and a class of Quicken to refresh closing out the yearend books. I am excited for the yearend and the changes that will go on in the office. It will be remodeled during the summer months starting on June 15th. This week I have to clean all the stuff that is in the cupboards and desks...find places for the items to be stored for the next two months. Everything will be in a big confusion. They contractor said it will only take four weeks. That I will have to see. When they built the cover for the stairs it was going to take only a few weeks and it took just three week to get the bolts that they forgot to order. Last week they finished painting. The started in December...knowing how the district works with contractors...I am never sure how long it will take to get the office completed. They need a clause in their contract with a penalty for non- completion by a certain date. That will get them in gear and get the job done. Maybe a bonus would be nice if they completed the job before the due date. That is always an incentive.

Today is April 4th. My Dad's birthday was yesterday. He would have been 84. I have thought about him in the past few days as one of the teachers at school lost his father on Thursday, April 2nd. I also thought about Mom, who I really think about everyday, and how we thought was on the mend but just needed to be by herself so she could move on and be with Dad. I have also thought about my little sister Bonny who will have her ever changing birthday, 50 years old, tomorrow, April 5th. Wow! It is hard to believe that the baby of our family will be 50! I am so proud of her and for the example she is to me. She is my best friend and I love her. Happy Birthday Bonny!

Wow! Am I ever bad. I have not been on to blog for a long time. I think since Facebook came along all I ever do is check on Facebook or look at all my kids and families blogs to see what is going on in their lives. Sorry about that. Sitting behind a computer all day at work doesn't help much either. I usually just come home and veg in front of the TV. I have tried several times to beat my main squeeze in a game of Chess but I have failed miserably! I am crushed. I use to could crush him in seconds. I beat him once in 4 moves. Done with that. Can't even get to first base. I am frustrated from the second we start playing till the end. One of these days Alice, One of these days!
